Terpene Salmon
Citrus-Infused Salmon (Limonene)
Terpene: Limonene (found in citrus fruits)
Ingredients
-
4 salmon fillets
-
1 teaspoon citrus essential oil (limonene) or 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 teaspoon honey
-
2 garlic cloves (minced)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, honey, garlic, lemon juice (or limonene essential oil), salt, and pepper.
3. Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet and brush them with the citrus mixture.
4. Roast the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
5. Garnish with fresh herbs (like parsley or dill) and serve. The limonene from the citrus provides a fresh, bright flavor to the salmon.
Tips for Adding Terpenes
-
Essential oils: Always ensure that you use food-safe essential oils. Not all essential oils are safe for consumption, so it's important to use high-quality, edible-grade products.
-
Start small: Terpenes are highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Start with just one drop and adjust to taste.
-
Dilute properly: If you're adding terpene oils, dilute them with other ingredients (such as oils, vinegar, or honey) to distribute the flavor more evenly.
