Terpene Choc Chip Cookies

Making terpene-infused chocolate chip cookies is a great way to blend the sweet, comforting taste of chocolate chip cookies with the unique, aromatic flavor profiles of cannabis terpenes.

Here's how you can make your own terpene chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients

  • Butter – 1 cup (about 226g), softened

  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup (200g)

  • Brown sugar – 1/2 cup (100g)

  • All-purpose flour – 2 1/4 cups (280g)

  • Baking soda – 1 tsp

  • Salt – 1/2 tsp

  • Eggs – 2 large

  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp

  • Cannabis terpenes – 2-4 drops (start small, as terpenes are concentrated)

  • Chocolate chips – 2 cups (340g, choose your favorite type: semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate)

  • Optional add-ins (e.g., nuts, dried fruit, etc.)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Electric mixer or whisk

  • Baking sheets

  • Parchment paper (optional for easy cleanup)

  • Cookie scoop or spoon

  • Cooling rack

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking and for easier cleanup.

2. Cream the Wet Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer or a whisk. Cream until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Add Terpenes

  • Add 2-4 drops of your chosen cannabis terpenes to the dough. Terpenes are very concentrated, so start with a small amount and increase to taste. Popular choices include:

    • Limonene for a citrusy, fresh flavor.

    • Pinene for a pine-like, herbal note.

    • Myrcene for earthy, musky undertones.

  • Mix the terpenes into the dough thoroughly.

4. Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5. Add Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or spoon. If you’re using any additional add-ins like nuts, fold those in as well.

6. Shape the Dough

  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, portion out about 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Place the dough balls on your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

7. Bake

  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft. Keep an eye on them, as baking times may vary slightly depending on your oven.

  • The cookies will firm up as they cool, so don't worry if they seem a little soft when you take them out of the oven.

8. Cool and Enjoy

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Enjoy your terpene-infused chocolate chip cookies!

Tips

  • Start small with terpenes: Since terpenes are very concentrated, start with 2-4 drops and adjust according to your preference. Adding too much can overwhelm the flavor of the cookies.

  • Balance the terpenes: Choose terpenes that will complement the flavor of the chocolate chips. For example, limonene works well with chocolate for a citrusy twist, while myrcene will enhance the earthy chocolate notes.

  • Terpene profiles: If you're unsure about which terpene to use, experiment with different profiles. Some terpenes can bring out specific flavors that pair well with chocolate.

By following this recipe, you’ll create delicious chocolate chip cookies with the added aromatic flair of cannabis terpenes—perfect for those who want a flavorful twist on a classic treat!
